In all 10+ times that the Quran records that Allah did not beget a son (masc. singular) (2:116, 10:68, 17:111, 18:4, 19:35, 19:88, 19:92, 21:26, 23:91, 25:2, 39:4, 72:3) the actual word is "to take" (ittikhadh) as in "do not take unbelievers for friends" (3:28). It does however, confirm that Allah did not beget (walada) daughters (37:152-153). In fact, the only clear definitive statement is 112:3 "He begets (yalid) not, nor is he begotten (yulad)" Note however, the root of the word y-l-d as opposed to w-l-d. And the only other place in the Quran where this form (y-l-d) of the word is used is 71:27 where the word beget(yalidu) is clearly used in an allegorical, metaphorical way.Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09774832052560098343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826089456220390915.post-66643959697551925752016-05-30T00:42:34.019+02:002016-05-30T00:42:34.019+02:00Many Imams will "quote" the quran to say...Many Imams will "quote" the quran to say that "Allah has not begotten a son" "It is not seemly that Allah beget a son" However, what they do not know is that in all 10+ times (2:116, 10:68, 17:111, 18:4, 19:35, 19:88, 19:92, 21:26, 23:91, 25:2, 39:4, 72:3) that the Quran "says" this, the actual word is - "to take" (ittikhadh) - and is used in other places in the quran "to take booty"(48:15) "take unbelievers as friends" (3:28). Pharaoh "took" Moses as a son (28:9). The Quran is also adamant that Allah did not 'beget'(walada) daughters (37:152-153). In summary, Allah did not beget daughters and neither did he take anyone to be his son. I think Christians can agree to that.Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09774832052560098343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5826089456220390915.post-58345392200612399342016-05-30T00:42:09.786+02:002016-05-30T00:42:09.786+02:00Many Imams will "quote" the quran to say...Many Imams will "quote" the quran to say that "Allah has not begotten a son" "It is not seemly that Allah beget a son" However, what they do not know is that in all 10+ times (2:116, 10:68, 17:111, 18:4, 19:35, 19:88, 19:92, 21:26, 23:91, 25:2, 39:4, 72:3) that the Quran "says" this, the actual word is - "to take" (ittikhadh) - and is used in other places in the quran "to take booty"(48:15) "take unbelievers as friends" (3:28).
