Allah’s Great Chain: Exposing the Demented and Sadistic Nature of Islam

We will be very short and to the point. The following references should give the readers an idea of just how demented a religion Islam truly is, and how sadistic the Muslim deity happens to be. According to the Quran and Islamic expositors, Allah will thrust a humongous chain through the anuses of the unbelievers as part of their torture and punishment:

Then thrust him INTO A CHAIN the length of which is seventy cubits. S. 69:32 Shakir

Note how the following renowned Muslim authorities explain this text:

(And then insert him in a chain) insert the chain IN HIS ANUS AND EXTRACT IT FROM HIS MOUTH, and what remains of it turn it round his neck (whereof the length) and width (is seventy cubits) cubits of the angel; it is also said this means: 70 fathoms. (Tanwîr al-Miqbâsmin Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=69&tAyahNo=32&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2; bold, capital and underline emphasis ours)

(Then fasten him on a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!) Ka`b Al-Ahbar said, “Every ring of it will be equal to the entire amount of iron found in this world.” Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn `Abbas and Ibn Jurayj both said, “Each cubit will be the forearm’s length of an angel.” Ibn Jurayj reported that Ibn `Abbas said…

(Then fasten him) “It will be entered INTO HIS BUTTOCKS AND PULLED OUT OF HIS MOUTH. Then they will be arranged on this (chain) just like locusts are arranged on a stick that is being roasted.” Al-`Awfi reported from Ibn `Abbas that he said, “IT WILL BE RAN INTO HIS BEHIND UNTIL IT IS BROUGHT OUT OF HIS TWO NOSTRILS so he will not be able to stand on his two feet.” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1260&Itemid=125; bold, capital and underline emphasis ours)

No further comments are necessary since these citations speak volumes about the true nature of Allah and the real source of Islam.

Turning the Tables Pt. 5

Here I continue https://badmanna.wordpress.com/2015/07/21/turning-the-tables-pt-4c-a-post-by-sam-shamoun/ with the series I started where I take the very objections raised by the enemies of the Gospel and turn them against them. In this particular article I will be revisiting the Muslim use of the risen Lord’s words in Matthew 28:18 to undermine his perfect Deity and essential coequality with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

OBJECTION

Host: What about when Jesus said all authority was given to him?

Jamal Badawi: Matthew 28:18

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

If we took this literally, if all authority has been given to Jesus, what is the role of the Father. That means that the Father has all of the authority which has been given to the Son and He ceases to be God. That is impossible interpretation. It also says that the authority was given to him, not coming from him. The one who gives is superior to the one the receives. To be divine, you receive nothing from anyone because to receive means that you are not divine. (K15. RadioAl-Islam Channel RA 200, Did Jesus Claim Divinity V : Other “Claims” https://www.islamicity.org/series/k15-did-jesusp-claim-divinity-v-other-claims/?-v:-other–claims)

RESPONSE

This argument ends up proving too much since it proves that Allah cannot possibly be God or divine (which in fact he isn’t) in light of the plain teaching of the Quran that Allah depends on creatures to provide for his needs and wants.

For instance, Allah is said to inherit from others:

It is We who give life, and make to die, and it is We who are the inheritors. S. 15:23 Arberry

Surely We shall inherit the earth and all that are upon it, and unto Us they shall be returned. S. 19:40 Arberry – cf. Q. 19:80; 3:180

Allah is even called the best of those who receive an inheritance!

And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: “O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors.” S. 21:89 Y. Ali

In fact, one of the so-called beautiful names of Allah is al-Warith, which means “the Inheritor”!

Al-Wârith: The Inheritor

The One who inherits and continues after all others have ceased to be; thus all returns to Him. He is the true owner of all.

Al-Warith  is one of the Ninety-Nine Names. (Aisha Bewley, Divine Names http://bewley.virtualave.net/names.html)

That’s not all. Allah actually asks for money from his creatures since we find the Quran repeatedly exhorting believers to grant him a loan. The Quran further promises that Allah will then pay them back even more than the amount he received from them:

Who is he who will lend to Allah a goodly loan? So he will increase it manifold for him, and he will have a noble reward… Surely, the men who give alms and the women who give alms, and those who lend to Allah a goodly loan – it will be increased manifold for them, and theirs will also be a honourable reward – S. 57:11, 18

If you lend to Allah a goodly loan (i.e. spend in Allah’s Cause) He will double it for you, and will forgive you. And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing, S. 64:17 Hilali-Khan – cf. Q. 2:245; 73:20

[Sidenote: If Allah pays back more than is loaned to him… doesn’t this mean that Allah believes in interest or usury, something which is condemned in Islam?]

Such statements caused the Jews of Muhammad’s time to conclude that Allah must be rather poor if he needs creatures to loan him money. In fact, the Quran even records their reply to Muhammad asking his followers to help his god out by borrowing him some of their money:

God has heard the saying of those who said, ‘Surely God is poor, and we are rich. We shall write down what they have said, and their slaying the Prophets without right, and We shall say, ‘Taste the chastisement of the burning — S. 3:181

Here is what noted Muslim expositor Ibn Kathir wrote in respect to this text:

Allah Warns the Idolators

Sa`id bin Jubayr said that Ibn `Abbas said, “When Allah’s statement…

(Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan so that He may multiply it to him many times) [2:245] was revealed, the Jews said, ‘O Muhammad! Has your Lord become poor SO THAT HE ASKS HIS SERVANTS TO GIVE HIM A LOAN?’ Allah sent down…

(Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: ‘Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!’) [3:181].”

This Hadith was collected by Ibn Marduwyah and Ibn Abi Hatim. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3144&Itemid=46: capital and underline emphasis ours)

Other commentaries include:

(Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said…) [3:181]. ‘Ikrimah, al-Suddi and Muqatil ibn Ishaq related that, one day, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq entered a Jewish place of study and found a group of Jewish people gathered around one of them called Finhas ibn ‘Azura, who was one of their doctors. Abu Bakr said to Finhas: “Fear Allah and embrace Islam, for by Allah you know well that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah who has brought the truth to you from Allah. He is mentioned in your Torah; so believe and accept the truth and grant Allah a goodly offering and He will make you enter the Garden and multiply your reward”. Finhas responded: “O Abu Bakr, you claim that our Lord is asking us to lend Him our wealth. Yet, it is only the poor who borrow from the rich. And if what you say is true, it follows that Allah is poor and we are rich, for if He were rich He would not ask us to lend Him our wealth”. Abu Bakr al-Siddiq became very angry and struck the face of Finhas with a mighty blow. He then said to him: “By Him in whose Hand is my soul, if it were not for the treaty between us, O enemy of Allah, I would have killed you”. Finhas went to the Messenger of Allah and said: “O Muhammad! Look at what your companion has done to me”. The Messenger of Allah asked Abu Bakr: “What has driven you to do what you have done?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, this enemy of Allah has said something very serious. He claimed that Allah is poor and they are rich. I therefore got angry for the sake of Allah and hit his face”. But Finhas denied that he ever uttered those words, and so Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse (Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said…) to give the lie to Finhas and to confirm that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq said the truth. ‘Abd al-Qahir ibn Tahir informed us> Abu ‘Amr ibn Matar> Ja‘far ibn al-Layth al-Ziyadi> Hudhayfah Musa ibn Mas‘ud> Shibl> Ibn Abi Najih> Mujahid who said: “This verse was revealed about the Jews; Abu Bakr had struck the face of one of their men who said ‘Allah is poor and we are rich’ ”. Shibl commented: “I was informed that this man was Finhas the Jew, and it is also this man who said: (Allah’s hand is fettered) [5:64]”. (‘Alī ibn Ahmad al-Wahidi, Asbab al-Nuzul https://altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=86&tSoraNo=3&tAyahNo=181&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2: bold and italic emphasis ours)

The reasoning of the Jews was spot on since it is the poor who borrow from the rich. Therefore, if Allah asks for a loan then this must mean that he is poor and that those whom he is borrowing from are rich, or at least richer than himself!

The Jews further reasoned that Allah must be very cheap and stingy with his wealth since he would rather have his creatures spend on him than him spending on them:

The Jews Say That Allah’s Hand is Tied up!

Allah states that the Jews, may Allah’s continuous curses descend on them until the Day of Resurrection, describe Him as a miser. Allah is far holier than what they attribute to Him. The Jews also claim that Allah is poor, while they are rich. `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas commented on Allah’s statement…

(The Jews say, “Allah’s Hand is tied up.”) “They do not mean that Allah’s Hand is literally tied up. Rather, they mean that He is a miser and does not spend from what He has. Allah is far holier than what they attribute to Him.” Similar was reported from Mujahid, `Ikrimah, Qatadah, As-Suddi and Ad-Dahhak. Allah said in another Ayah

(And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach (like a spendthrift), so that you become blameworthy and in severe poverty.) In this Ayah, Allah prohibits stinginess and extravagance, which includes unnecessary and improper expenditures. Allah describes stinginess by saying…

(And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck.) Therefore, this is the meaning that the Jews meant, may Allah’s curses be on them. `Ikrimah said that this Ayah was revealed about Finhas, one of the Jews, may Allah curse him. We mentioned before that Finhas said…

(“Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!”) and that Abu Bakr smacked him. Allah has refuted what the Jews attribute to Him and cursed them in retaliation for their lies and fabrications about Him. Allah said…

(Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered.) What Allah said occurred, for the Jews are indeed miserly, envious, cowards and tremendously humiliated. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Q. 5:64 http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=759&Itemid=60: underline emphasis ours)

Isn’t it interesting to see that both Abu Bakr and “Allah” have little or no idea how to respond to this critique other than either to beat up the questioner or curse him and threaten him? Surely, if that is not the meaning, if that was merely a misunderstanding on the part of the Jews, then Allah would have been able to eloquently clarify what the true meaning of “lending to God” is, and yet he didn’t!

Therefore, if Muhammadans like Badawi are to be consistent they must reject the godhood of Allah (which they should but for other reasons), since Allah cannot possibly be god or divine seeing that he receives an inheritance from others and has to ask people to grant him a loan. After all, it is Badawi who argued that, “the one who gives is superior to the one who receives. To be divine, you receive nothing from anyone because to receive means that you are not divine.”

As such, Allah cannot be divine nor can he be the greatest conceivable being. Rather, it is those who lend Allah their money and/or hand over their inheritance to him who are actually greater and superior per the logic of Badawi, since this shows that the Muslim deity clearly depends on them to supply him with his needs and desires.

Conclusively prove that Allah prays and worships much like a Muslim does. In this article we are going to provide some additional evidence to further show that Allah prays and worships just like his so called followers.

According to Islamic teaching, the greeting “Peace be upon you” (as-Salamu alaika/alaikum) or its equivalent is a dua (invocation), where one invokes Allah to bestow his peace and protection upon an individual. Note what the following Muslim websites say regarding this point:

DUA

When we say As-Salaamuilakum we are making Dua. Yes its a greeting but in essence your praying to the Allah saying YA SALAAM I ask you to make him (the one whom I am greeting) SAALIM (protected from everything that can harm him in his deen dunya and akhirah). (Contemplate Quran, “The meaning of the greeting Assalamualaikum”, Posted on 09/16/2014 https://contemplatequran.wordpress.com/2014/09/16/the-meaning-of-the-greeting-assalamualaikum/; italicized and underline emphasis ours)

And:

Answer:

Assalamu alaikum” is the Islamic greeting which literally means “salam (peace) be upon you.”

There are various opinions about the meaning of “salam”

It is narrated in a hadith that “Salam” is one of the beautiful names of Allah meaning “peace, the source of peace and safety”. In this case, “assalamu alaikum” means “May the name of Allah be on you.”

According to the eminent Maliki scholar Qadi Iyad, “salam” means “protection” (muhafaza) and so “assalamu alaikum” means “ May Allah’s protection and care be with you.” He expresses that it is a dua in the meaning of “May Allah be with you”. (Ask a Question to Us, “What Does ‘Assalamu Alaikum’ Mean?” https://askaquestionto.us/question-answer/miscellaneous/what-does-assalamu-alaikum-mean; underline emphasis ours)

Again:

This is not only the greetings words that we say while meeting with someone, it is a Dua(prayer) as well, That has been blessed upon us from Allah Tabarak Wa Ta’alah. Now I’ll tell you important’s of Salam in the light of Hadees and Quran . (Deen-e-Islam For Whole Universe, “How Much Important Of Assalam O Alikum In a Muslim Life,” Saturday, September 10, 2011 http://deen-e-islams.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-much-important-of-assalam-o-alikum.html; bold and underline emphasis ours)

Here is another:

Islamically, dua means to make an informal prayer to Allah. A formal prayer is the Salaah, which has structured movements and sayings. But a dua is informal meaning there’s no absolute structure and nothing that absolutely must be said.

Dua means a person is calling upon Allah.

Reasons For Making Dua

Muslims make dua for just about anything and everything. In fact, a lot of our daily speech is filled with duas.

For instance:

When we recite Surah Al-Fatihah, we’re making dua.

When we say “As-Salaamu Alaikum” and respond with “Wa Alaikum Salaam” we’re making dua.

When we make Istikhaarah for decisions, we’re making dua. (Islamic Learning Materials, “The Greatest Dua In The World,” Posted on September 6, 2012 by Abu Ibrahim http://islamiclearningmaterials.com/greatest-dua/; italicized and underline emphasis ours)

Finally:

Is it permissible to greet people using different wordings? In other words, not limiting the greeting to “as-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmat-Allah (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah). For example, is it permissible to say, “Peace be upon you from a Lord Who is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful”, or “In the name of the Almighty Lord I begin my words, and upon His noble Prophet I send my salaam”? The reason is that I came across this in a chat room and I am not sure about it…

Giving and returning the greeting is undoubtedly one of the acts of worship encouraged by the Prophet and enjoined by him, and the ruling on acts of worship is that it is not permissible to change the wording or the manner in which they are done from that which is narrated in the texts…

Allah prescribed the salaam for Adam and his descendants until the Hour begins. In fact the greeting of the believers will continue to be salaam even after they enter Paradise…

As that is the case, what we should do is not change the wording of this act of worship or add to it, because it is the Sunnah of the Prophets and Messengers, and it is the slogan of the believers of all nations…

The aim of the Muslim when saying that should be to offer supplication for those whom he is greeting, asking Allah, may He be exalted, the Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful Lord, to grant them peace and decree wellbeing for them. (Islam Question and Answer, 138666: Saying salaam in the wording mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah is better and more complete https://islamqa.info/en/138666; bold and underline emphasis ours)

The Quran itself concurs that this is a greeting which actually is an invocation or prayer for peace:

And when those who believe in Our revelations come unto thee, say: Peace be unto you! Your Lord hath prescribed for Himself mercy, that whoso of you doeth evil through ignorance and repenteth afterward thereof and doeth right, (for him) lo! He is Forgiving, Merciful. S. 6:54 Pickthall

And between them will be a barrier screen and on Al-A’raf (a wall with elevated places) will be men (whose good and evil deeds would be equal in scale), who would recognise all (of the Paradise and Hell people), by their marks (the dwellers of Paradise by their white faces and the dwellers of Hell by their black faces), they will call out to the dwellers of Paradise, “Salamun ‘Alaikum” (peace be on you), and at that time they (men on Al-A’raf) will not yet have entered it (Paradise), but they will hope to enter (it) with certainty. S. 7:46 Hilali-Khan

Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), which they shall enter and (also) those who acted righteously from among their fathers, and their wives, and their offspring. And angels shall enter unto them from every gate (saying): “Salamun ‘Alaikum (peace be upon you) for that you persevered in patience! Excellent indeed is the final home!” S. 13:23-24 Hilali-Khan

Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allah Alone) saying (to them): Salamun ‘Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of (the good) which you used to do (in the world).” S. 16:32 Hilali-Khan

Abraham said: “Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious. S. 19:47 Y. Ali

Say (O Muhammad): Praise be to Allah, and peace be on His slaves whom He hath chosen! Is Allah best, or (all) that ye ascribe as partners (unto Him)? S. 27:59 Pickthall

And those who kept their duty to their Lord will be led to Paradise in groups, till, when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (before their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salamun ‘Alaikum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein.” S. 39:73 Hilali-Khan

Dua as the very essence of worship

Now according to the so-called authentic narrations attributed to Muhammad, dua is the very heart of worship:

  1. It was narrated from Nu‘man bin Bashir that the Messenger of Allah said: “Indeed the supplication is the worship.” Then he recited: “And your Lord said: Invoke Me, I will respond to you.”[1] (Sahih(English Translation of Sunan Ibn Majah – Compiled by Imam Muhammad Bin Yazeed Ibn Majah Al-Qazwini, From Hadith No. 3657 to 4341, Ahadith edited and referenced by Hafiz Abu Tahir Zubair ‘Ali Za’i, translated by Nasiruddin al-Khattab (Canada), final review by Abu Khaliyl (USA) [Darussalam Publications and Distributors, First Edition: June 2007], Volume 5, 34. The Chapter On Supplication, Chapter 1. The Virtue of Supplication, p. 95; underline emphasis ours)

[1] Ghafir 40:60. (Ibid.)

And:

  1. The excellence of supplication

  2. Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet said, “Nothing is dearer to Allah than supplication.”

  1. Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet said, “The noblest act of worship is supplication.”

  1. An-Nu’man ibn Bashir reported that the Prophet said, “Supplication is worship.” Then he recited, “Call on Me and I will answer you.” (Bewley, Al-Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari, XXX. Supplication http://bewley.virtualave.net/adab4.html#supplicate; underline emphasis ours)

This means that anyone making dua is actually performing an act of worship, and all acts of worship are to be directed to Allah alone according to the Quran:

And your Lord has said, “Invoke Me and I will respond to you. Surely the ones who wax too proud to do Me worship will soon enter Hell utterly abject.”… He is The Living One; there is no god except He. So invoke Him, making the religion His faithfully. Praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. S. 40:60, 65 Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali

and that masajid (mosques) belong to Allah; so, do not invoke anyone along with Allah,” S. 72:18 Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Allah Prays Salam upon his creatures

Herein lies the problem for Muslims since the Quran portrays Allah as invoking peace upon specific individuals:

And Salamun (peace) be on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)! S. 19:15 Pickthall

Verily, the dwellers of the Paradise, that Day, will be busy in joyful things. They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones. They will have therein fruits (of all kinds) and all that they ask for. (It will be said to them): Salamun (peace be on you), a Word from the Lord (Allah), Most Merciful. S. 36:55-58 Hilali-Khan

Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!” S. 37:79 Hilali-Khan

Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!” S. 37:109 Hilali-Khan

Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!” S. 37:120 Hilali-Khan

Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)!” S. 37:130 Hilali-Khan

So turn (O Muhammad) away from them for a while, And watch and they shall see (the torment)! Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! And peace be on the Messengers! S. 37:178-181 Hilali-Khan

Since the greeting of Salam (“peace”) is an invocation, and therefore worship, this means that Allah is actually performing an act of worship whenever he greets someone with peace. But to whom? Who is Allah worshiping when he prays Salam upon a person? Is he worshiping himself or someone else?

Here is a break down of the above which highlights the problems that Muslims face.

  1. The saying of Salam upon someone is an act of worship, a dua (invocation) to Allah to grant safety and peace to (an) individual(s).

  2. Invocations and other acts of worship are to be directed to Allah alone.

  3. Allah greets certain people with the greeting of Salam, which means that Allah is making dua, and is therefore engaged in worship.

  4. This means that Allah is either invoking/worshiping himself, or someone other than himself.

  5. If the former, then this implies that Allah is some kind of schizophrenic and/or narcissistic deity who loves to worship himself.

  6. Yet if the latter is true, then this means that he is not the only god or the greatest of the gods, since there is a deity that is greater than him, one to whom the Muslim god has to answer and also worship.

We will let the Muslims sort out all of this mess.

An Open Challenge to Muslims Concerning the Bible

The Quran emphatically testifies that one of its main functions is to confirm/bear witness to the textual reliability and authority of the very Scriptures that the Jews and Christians had with them during Muhammad’s time:

O Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me. And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is WITH YOU, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone. And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). And be steadfast in prayer; practise regular charity; and bow down your heads with those who bow down (in worship). Do ye enjoin right conduct on the people, and forget (To practise it) yourselves, and yet ye study the Scripture? Will ye not understand? S. 2:40-44 A. Yusuf Ali

And when there comes to them a Book from God, confirming what is WITH THEM, – although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith, – when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of God is on those without Faith. S. 2:89 Y. Ali

When it is said to them, “Believe in what God Hath sent down,” they say, “We believe in what was sent down to us:” yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is WITH THEM. Say: “Why then have ye slain the prophets of God in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?” S. 2:91 Y. Ali

And when there came to them an apostle from God, confirming what was WITH THEM, a party of the people of the Book threw away the Book of God behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know! S. 2:101 Y. Ali

O ye People of the Book! believe in what We have (now) revealed, confirming what was (already) WITH YOU, before We change the face and fame of some (of you) beyond all recognition, and turn them hindwards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers, for the decision of God Must be carried out. S. 4:47 Y. Ali

No one could have composed this Quran besides God. This confirms THE EXISTING BOOK (the Bible) and explains itself. There is no doubt that it is from the Lord of the Universe. S. 10:37 Muhammad Sarwar https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/10/st23.htm

Here is another rendering of the foregoing passage:

“… rather (it is) a verification and confirmation to what IS IN ITS TWO HANDS (walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi) and details to Al-Kitab [the word ‘Qur’an’ means some thing which is read by emitting words. When Allah’s Book is subjected to Qir’atit confirms what is available in the written copies of the scripture already available anywhere in the world, and it also contains details to all the verdicts available in the Book]…” Dr. Kamal Omar https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/10/st48.htm

And:

Definitely, in their incidents is a lesson for men of understanding. (This Al-Kitâb) is not (a collection of) forged and concocted HadeesRather it is a confirmation to what IS IN ITS BOTH HANDS (i.e., already there [walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi]) and details to all things and Hudah and Rahmah for the nation who Believe. S. 12:111 Dr. Kamal Omar https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/12/st48.htm

Note the following translation of the above verse:

“… It (the Qur’an) is not a forged statement but a confirmation of the Allah’s EXISTING BOOKS [the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel) and other Scriptures of Allah]…” Hilali-Khan

And here is how a commentary attributed to Muhammad’s first cousin explains this particular reference:

(In their history) in their events, the event of Joseph and his brothers (verily there is a lesson) a sign (for men of understanding) for people endowed with intelligence. (It is no invented story) the Qur’an is not an invented story (but a confirmation of the existing (Scripture)) a confirmation of the Torah, the Gospel and all the others scriptures; it confirms the profession of monotheism and other legal rulings as well as the story of Joseph (and a detailed explanation of everything) a detailed explanation of the lawful and the unlawful, (and a guidance) from error (and a mercy) preventing from chastisement (for folk who believe) in Muhammad and in the Qur’an which was revealed to you from your Lord, and Allah knows the secrets of His Book’. (Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs https://altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=12&tAyahNo=111&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2; bold and underline emphasis ours)

Thus, according to these texts the original, uncorrupt Torah and Gospel existed at the time of Muhammad. More on this point later.

The Islamic scripture further exhorts Muhammad and his followers to believe in and bear witness to all the Books in the hands of the Jews and Christians:

The Messenger believes in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and the believers; each one believes in God and His angels, and in His Books (wa-kutubihi) and His Messengers; we make no division between any one of His Messengers. They say, ‘We hear, and obey. Our Lord, grant us Thy forgiveness; unto Thee is the homecoming.’ S. 2:285 Arberry

And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, “We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our God and your God is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).” S. 29:46 Y. Ali

He has ordained for you such religion as He enjoined on Noah, which We have now revealed to you; which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: ‘Observe the Religion and do not divide.’ Hard for the pagans is that to which you call them. God chooses for it whom He will, and guides to it those that repent. Yet they did not divide themselves, through their own wickedness, until knowledge was given them. And but for a word that had already gone forth from your Lord reprieving them for an appointed term, judgement would have surely been passed among them. And those who inherited the Scriptures after them have their grave doubts too. Therefore preach and keep to the straight path as you are commanded. Do not be led by their desires, but say: ‘I believe in all the Scriptures that God has revealed. I am commanded to exercise justice among you. God is our Lord and your Lord. We have our works and you have your works; let there be no argument between us. God will bring us all together, and to Him shall be the final return.’ S. 42:13-15 N. J. Dawood https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/42/st50.htm

This brings me to my next point. Both the Quran and ahadith testify that the true, uncorrupt Torah and Gospel were with the Jews and Christians:

Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him IN the Torah AND THE GOSPEL and the Qur’an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph. S. 9:111 Pickthall

“… A promise binding upon Him in truth; It IS IN the Torah [of Musa (Moses)], THE GOSPEL [of Isa (Jesus)], and the Quran (revealed to the Prophet Muhammad)…” Syed Vickar Ahamed https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/9/st28.htm

“… and their likeness IN the Gospel: as a seed that puts forth its shoot, and strengthens it, and it grows stout and rises straight upon its stalk, pleasing the sowers, that through them He may enrage the unbelievers. God has promised those of them who believe and do deeds of righteousness forgiveness and a mighty wage.” S. 48:29 Arberry

those who follow the Messenger, ‘the Prophet of the common folk, whom they find written down WITH THEM in the Torah and the Gospel…’” S. 7:157 Arberry

Here is a different version of the above verse:

Those who follow the Rasul, the Ummi (unlettered) Nabi (whose natural disposition has not been corrupted and original purity is preserved) who has been stated in the Torah and the Gospel IN THEIR HANDS…” Ahmed Hulusi https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/7/st63.htm

Now pay attention to the following narrations:

36 Tribulations

(26) Chapter: The disappearance of the Quran and Knowledge

It was narrated that Ziyad bin Labid said:

The Prophet mentioned something and said: ‘That will be at the time when knowledge (of Qur’an) disappears.’ I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, how will knowledge disappear when we read the Qur’an and teach it to our children, until the Day of Resurrection?’ He said: ‘May your mother be bereft of you, Ziyad! I thought that you were the wisest man in Al- Madinah. Is it not the case that these Jews and Christians READ THE TAWRAH AND THE INJIL, but they do not act upon anything of what is in them?’”

41 Chapters on Knowledge

(5) Chapter: What Has Been Related About Knowledge Leaving

Narrated Jubair bin Nufair:

from Abu Ad-Darda who said: “We were with the Prophet when he raised his sight to the sky, then he said: ‘This is the time when knowledge is to be taken from the people, until what remains of it shall not amount to anything.” So Ziyad bin Labid Al-Ansari said: ‘How will it be taken from us while we recite the Qur’an. By Allah we recite it, and our women and children recite it?’ He said: ‘May you be bereaved of your mother O Ziyad! I used to consider you among the Fuqaha of the people of Al-Madinah. The Tawrah and Injil ARE WITH THE JEWS AND CHRISTIANS, but what do they avail of them?‘” Jubair said: “So I met ‘Ubadah bin As-Samit and said to him: ‘Have you not heard what your brother Abu Ad-Darda said?’ Then I informed him of what Abu Ad-Darda said. He said: ‘Abu Ad-Darda spoke the truth. If you wish, we shall narrated to you about the first knowledge to be removed from the people: It is Khushu’, soon you will enter the congregational Masjid, but not see any man in it with Khushu’.'”

With the foregoing in view, here is our challenge to all of the Muhammadan polemicists.

Please tell us what the Torah and Gospel that the Jews and Christians had and read from in Muhammad’s day. In fact, I want you to identify the Torah that Muhammad held, praised and even appealed to in order judge the Jews of his day, as the following commentary affirms:

Malik reported that Nafi` said that `Abdullah bin `Umar said, “The Jews came to Allah’s Messenger and mentioned that a man and a woman from them committed adultery. Allah’s Messenger said to them…

<<What do find of the ruling about stoning in the Tawrah>> They said, `We only find that they should be exposed and flogged.’ `Abdullah bin Salam said, `You lie. The Tawrah mentions stoning, so bring the Tawrah.’ They brought the Tawrah and opened it but one of them hid the verse about stoning with his hand and recited what is before and after that verse. `Abdullah bin Salam said to him, `Remove your hand,’ and he removed it, thus uncovering the verse about stoning. So they said, ‘He (`Abdullah bin Salam) has said the truth, ‘O Muhammad! It is the verse about stoning.’ The Messenger of Allah decided that the adulterers be stoned to death and his command was carried out. I saw that man shading the woman from the stones with his body.”… Abu Dawud recorded that Ibn `Umar said, “Some Jews came to the Messenger of Allah and invited him to go to the Quff area. So he went to the house of Al-Midras and they said, ‘O Abu Al-Qasim! A man from us committed adultery with a woman, so decide on their matter.’ They arranged a pillow for the Messenger of Allah and he sat on it and said…

<<Bring the Tawrah to me.>> He was brought the Tawrah and he removed the pillow from under him and placed the Tawrah on it, saying

<<I TRUST YOU and He Who revealed it to you.>>… (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Q. 5:41 http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=776&Itemid=60; bold, capital and underline emphasis ours)

Now how could the Quran speak of what the Torah and Gospel contained if these Books did not exist at Muhammad’s time? And why did Muhammad praise a copy of the Torah and bear witness to his belief in its divine origin if the true, uncorrupt Torah no longer existed in pure, pristine form?

The answer is obvious. The Torah and Gospel that existed during Muhammad’s life are the very Books which the Jews and Christians read till this very day, since these are the only Scriptures that these respective communities have always possessed.

There is, therefore, no doubt on textual, historical grounds, that the Quran is confirming the Books of the Old and New Testaments as the uncorrupt revelations of God. This in turn means that the Quran is bearing witness to the Canonical Gospels, which the Christians have always possessed, as being the inscripturation of THE Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, a fact which the following verse confirms:

“… and their likeness IN the Gospel: as a seed that puts forth its shoot, and strengthens it, and it grows stout and rises straight upon its stalk, pleasing the sowers, that through them He may enrage the unbelievers. God has promised those of them who believe and do deeds of righteousness forgiveness and a mighty wage.” S. 48:29 Arberry

Now contrast this with what Mark wrote:

He said, ‘The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he does not know how. For the earth bears fruit by itself: first the blade, then the head, then the full seed in the head. But when the grain is ripe, immediately he applies the sickle because the harvest has come.’” Mark 4:26-29

That the Islamic scripture is quoting from Mark is a fact that Muslim scholars readily admit:

The similitude in the Gospel is about how the good seed is sown and grown gradually, even beyond the expectation of the sower: “the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how; for the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the earth”; MARK, iv 27-28… (Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur’an: Meaning and Translation, p. 1400, n. 4917; bold and capital emphasis mine)

This parable is found in a sermon of the Prophet Jesus that has been reported in the New Testament, thus:

And he said, So is the kingdom of God as if a man should east [sic] seed into the ground: And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come [This is taken from Mark 4:26-29]. And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it [This comes from Mark 4:30-32].”

The last portion of this sermon is also found in Matthew, 13:31-32. (S. Abul A’la Maududi, Meaning of the Qur’an, Volume V, English rendering by A.A. Kamal, M.A. [Islamic Publications (Pvt.) Limited, 13-E, Shahalam Market, Lahore-8 Pakistan], p. 67, fn. 56; underlined emphasis and comments within brackets ours)

Moreover, the earliest extant writing on the life of Muhammad cites John’s Gospel as the written account of the very Gospel which God gave Jesus to pass on to his followers:

Among the things which have reached me about what Jesus the Son of Mary stated in the Gospel which he received from God for the followers of the Gospel, in applying a term to describe the apostle of God, is the following. It is extracted FROM WHAT JOHN THE APOSTLE SET DOWN FOR THEM WHEN HE WROTE THE GOSPEL FOR THEM FROM THE TESTAMENT OF JESUS SON OF MARY: ‘He that hateth me hateth the Lord. And if I had not done in their presence works which none other before me did, they had not sin: but from now they are puffed up with pride and think that they will overcome me and also the Lord. But the word that is in the law must be fulfilled, “They hated me without a cause” (i.e. without reason). But when the Comforter has come whom God will send to you from the Lord’s presence, and the spirit of truth which will have gone forth from the Lord’s presence he (shall bear) witness of me and ye also, because ye have been with me from the beginning. I have spoken unto you about this that ye should not be in doubt.’

The Munahhemana (God bless and preserve him!) in Syriac is Muhammad; in Greek he is the paraclete. (The Life of Muhammad: A Translation of Ibn Ishaq’s Sirat Rasul Allah, with introduction and notes by Alfred Guillaume [Oxford University Press, Karachi, Tenth impression 1995], pp. 103-104; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Ibn Ishaq quotes John 15:23-16:1 and unhesitatingly identifies this as the Gospel of Christ which John recorded for Jesus’ followers! Notice that Ibn Ishaq never hints at this particular Gospel being corrupted or unreliable, which is rather ironic since this happens to be the same Gospel that Muslim polemicists are constantly attacking, even shamefully citing liberal critics to cast doubt on its historical veracity.

Hence, Islam’s most authoritative sources confirm beyond any reasonable doubt that the Gospel of Jesus is that which has been preserved in the fourfold Gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, since these are the only writings that the Christians of Muhammad’s day read and classified as the Gospel.

In light of the above, we have a further challenge for these Muslim polemicists.

Our challenge is quite simple. We want them to kindly educate us whether variant readings such as Mark’s longer ending, or John’s pericope of the woman caught in adultery (cf. John 7:53-8:11), are genuine by examining the manuscript tradition to see if such readings were part of the Gospels that the Christians were reading at Muhammad’s time.

After all, since Muhammad claimed that the Gospels that the Christians of his day possessed are the uncorrupt revelations of God, he basically confirmed whatever those copies of the Gospels contained. And if those copies included these variants, then this means that the Islamic scripture testifies that such readings are genuine revelations which God inspired to be part of the very Gospel that Muhammad affirmed was in the hands of the Christians of his day.

If you disagree that your own prophet believed in the authority and textual veracity of the Books of the Old and New Testaments, then you must provide some kind of textual, historical, archaeological proof that the Torah and the Gospel that the Jews and Christians read, and which Muhammad confirmed, are not the same as what these same communities possess till this very day, which are none other than the sacred writings that make up the Holy Bible.

I eagerly await your HONEST answers.
