Do Christians and Muslims Worship the Same God? (Part 1) By Silas

Introduction
When Christians ask “Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?” they are asking:
“Is the Allah of Islam the same as God the Father?”
“Is the God of Islam the same God of the Old Testament who created the world and spoke with the prophets?”
“Did the same God who spoke with Jesus, James, Peter, John, Paul, and Ananias, send His angel Gabriel to speak the Quran’s words to Muhammad?”
They want to know if Muslims and Christians are worshiping the one and the same Divine Person, the one and only one God.
Of course we know that both faiths refer to the One Almighty Creator God.  Muslims believe that they worship the God of Abraham, the God of Moses, the God of Jesus.  The question, however, is not if they refer to the same God, but rather, from the way They are identified, revealed, and described, are they the same God.
Christians who ask this question approach it from a matter of personal faith.  It is more to them than an academic question.  The answer counts.  They understand that even if the faiths present differing aspects about the Gods, They could still be the same God, and on the other hand, if there are contradictions and opposites between these Gods then They would not be the same.
For the Christian, if the answer is “Yes” then it validates Islam and the Quran to some degree.  If the answer is “Yes” it implies that they are ignorant of much about the God they worship and love.  Further, if the answer is “Yes” it means that when Jesus prayed in the Garden He was praying to Allah.
The most important aspect of this question is its eternal significance.  Although this question’s theme is in play as Muslims and Christians interact in worldwide record-setting breadth and depth and its answer affects how they view, interact, and treat each other, of far greater consequence is that these Gods demand accurate worship.  They both require correct theological beliefs in worship.  Neither of Them take idolatry and the worship of a false god lightly and in both faiths idolaters are condemned and sentenced to hell!  Eternal consequence outweighs temporal relations.  Jesus said as such:  “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
This is a five part article which examines historical, religious, and Scriptural evidence to answer that question.  Its pace is slower than normal but I am convinced that the answer to this question is of the utmost importance for Christians.  It affects how we relate to God, practice our faith, understand Islam, and how we practice outreach to Muslims.

Groundwork
Three principles must be established before we move on to examine the evidence.
Principle 1:  The Integrity and Authority of the Faith’s Scriptures
To answer the question accurately we need defined and established references.  Therefore, the general integrity of each faith’s Scriptures is assumed in order to facilitate an honest and accurate investigation.  Each Scripture must be viewed as portraying the faith’s God accurately.  Let the Quran speak for Islam’s God and let the Bible speak for Christianity’s God.  The statements we’ll examine are not abstract, masked, or mysterious.  While the textual integrity of both the Quran and Bible is not perfect scholars agree that what is written closely represents the originals.
The authority of the faith’s Scriptures is fundamental.  Christians and Muslims know about their God through their Scripture’s teachings.  While exterior religious sources may provide extra-Scriptural information about their God, (such as the writings of the Early Church Fathers or Islam’s Traditions), those faiths’ Scriptures are their primary theological sources.  We understand the God of Christianity because of the Bible’s teachings.  Christians believe that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and so on because of what the Bible states.  In the same way, because of the Quran’s teachings, Muslims know that Allah is all powerful, all merciful, and so on.
The Scriptures that tell us of these Gods’ omnipotence, eternity, unity, etc., also give us their words, commands, intentions, plans, and communications with mankind.  If we take their lofty statements at face value then we should also take their plain spoken statements at face value.  We must be honest and fair in our treatment and acknowledgement of these Scriptures.  If we ignore some verses out of personal preference, or out of a desire to win an argument, then we only create a laughable mysticism or a valueless superstition lacking substance.  That approach is worthless and deserves mockery.
Of course the Scriptures are limited in what they tell us about God.  Concerning this Francis Schaeffer said in Escape from Reason:
In this way we know true truth about God, true truth about man, and something truly about nature. Thus on the basis of the Scriptures, while we do not have exhaustive knowledge, we have true and unified knowledge.

We have limited, but accurate, truth and knowledge about God from our Scriptures.
We do not create these Gods from our imaginations.  Rather these Scriptures tell us about these Gods and from those Scriptures we perceive God’s attributes and upon those Scriptures we stand and build our metaphysical conceptions.  Our perceptions and conceptions must be established upon the Scriptures which tell us about these Gods, and they should not contradict what the Scriptures state.
I make this point because some theologians pick and choose specific Scriptures for their argument while conveniently ignoring or discounting other Scriptures that undermine their argument.  How would God have felt if Moses gave the Israelites the “Eight Commandments”?  Jonah refused to proclaim God’s words to Nineveh and we know the results.  When Muhammad compromised with idol worship he was rebuked by Allah through Gabriel.  Shouldn’t today’s theologians be held accountable and expected to engage all of God’s word?

Principle 2:  Theological Setting and Scope
The Story of the Blind Men and the Elephant.
There is a notable parable about several blind men examining an elephant.  One man feels the tusk, another the trunk, and another the tail.  They discuss what attributes they’ve identified and declare a truth about the elephant.  Thereafter they argue and disagree about its identity and attributes.  “The elephant is solid, smooth, and strong,” “No! The elephant is pliable like a rope,” “No! The elephant is large and rough.”  There are variations of the story but in general it is used to teach the message that although all faiths have different understandings or different truths about the one God they do indeed worship the one and the same God.  Therefore all faiths should accept and learn from each other, respect each other, and live in peace.
The problem with this story is that from its beginning it concedes and concludes that an elephant is being examined.  There is no real argument here because we know that the differing truths about the elephant are complimentary, not contradictory.  This story allows for no possibility that the blind men are examining different creatures, for example a bird, an elephant, or a fish.   Applying this allegory to our question establishes the answer from the beginning that Christians and Muslims are indeed worshiping the same God.  They just have different understandings and know different characteristics of that One God.
However for our question a story could be titled “What the Blind Men Examined.”  It would start out by having each blind man examine an unidentified creature and allow the possibility that they were examining the same or different creatures.
In the case of the elephant the blind man who identified the tusk’s strength made an accurate observation.  It is not contradicted or cancelled out by the testimony of the blind man who identified the tail’s flexibility.  But if one man examined a fish and stated “my creature only breathes underwater,” while another man examined an elephant and said, “my creature only breathes in air,” then we could conclude that they are not talking about the same creature.
The challenge here is to identify key attributes that confirm these Gods are the same, could be the same, or are not the same.

Principle 3:  The Living Gods and the authority of the Christian and Muslim Scriptures
We are talking about living and speaking Gods whose actions are recorded in the faiths’ Scriptures.  These Gods were not silent observers.  They were involved actively with their followers and interacted with them.  These Gods make it rain, save people from death, and kill people.  Comparing these Gods requires evaluation of their attributes, words, and deeds.  Comparing these Gods must involve more than abstract academic fluff, metaphysical rhetoric, and trite philosophical points.  All too often the theologians approach this question from an academic perspective which does not recognize that they are examining living, powerful, and active Gods.

 A “Yes” answer’s implications:
  • If they worship the same God then all believers would enter heaven/paradise.
  • If they worship the same God then Christians and Muslims could view each other as fellow believers destined for eternal life.
  • If they worship the same God then it is possible that the one and same God is behind both Scriptures:  the God that inspired the New Testament also sent Gabriel to give the Quran to Muhammad.
  • If they worship the same God then could they be free to mix practical elements of both Scriptures and faiths?  Wouldn’t it make sense to take the best from each faith and apply it to our lives?

A “No” answer’s implications:
  • If they don’t worship the same God then one group is committing idolatry.
  • If they don’t worship the same God then the good and sincere believers of one group are going to hell regardless.
  • If they don’t worship the same God then one group should be doing all it can to spread the true faith to the other.
  • If they don’t worship the same God then at least one group’s Scriptures, as a whole, are false and poisonous.

“Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?”
I’m trying to methodically present an examination based on what both faiths teach so that we may reach a definitive answer.  To that end I’ve chosen three different theological topics to examine and compare.  The burden of proof is on me to show that they are either the same, could be the same, or are not the same.
I need to arrive at a simple and concrete “Yes” or “No” answer.  I’ve read two books and some 20 articles on this subject and many, (not all), of the answers are confusing, abstract, and unclear.  This answer has eternal consequences and it had better be more definitive than a personal or philosophical opinion and involve more than cursory work.
NOTE:  to simplify things from here on out, when I’m differentiating between the Gods I’ll refer to Islam’s God as “Allah” and Christianity’s God as “God.”  When referring to them both at the same time, or in a general sense, I’ll use “God” or “Gods.”  The context will define whom I mean.  I understand that Arabic Christians refer to “God” as “Allah” and that is fine.  But for ease of reading here, when warranted, I’ll distinguish them simply by calling Islam’s God “Allah” and Christianity’s God “God.”  No disrespect is meant to One or the Other.

Definitions - Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?
I need to define the key term “same” for the context of our question.   Words have different contexts and different meanings at different times.  Sincere people in earnest conversations may misunderstand and disagree on a word’s definition.  On the other hand, when Bill Clinton lied to the grand jury investigating his illicit sexual encounters he said, “It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is.”  So too we must define what we mean by the word “same.”
Defining “same” here is also important because as we’ll see later some of the “theologians” who address this question are reluctant to, or have difficulty in, defining “same.”  They are uncomfortable with it.  That such a fundamental aspect of this equation is avoided or fumbled by the theologians is a sign that they are not up to, or unwilling, to tackle the question as it should be addressed.
Below is Webster’s Online Dictionary’s definition, and I’ve included its synonyms and antonyms because they provide contrast:
same
1
a: resembling in every relevant respect
b: conforming in every respect —used with as
2
a: being one without addition, change, or discontinuance : identical
b: being the one under discussion or already referred to
3
: corresponding so closely as to be indistinguishable
4
: equal in size, shape, value, or importance —usually used with the or a demonstrative (as that, those) in all senses
Synonyms: coequal, duplicate, equal, even, identical, indistinguishable, much of a muchness
Antonyms: different, disparate, dissimilar, distant, distinct, distinctive, distinguishable, diverse, nonidentical, other, unalike, unlike

Webster’s gives us a foundation to build upon.  For our purposes, “same” is “resembling, conforming, identical, indistinguishable, equal in all respects and senses.”  Can it be shown that these two Gods are distinct and different enough that they cannot be construed as being the same?  If we cannot detect and identify distinctive differences, dissimilar characteristics, or disparate attributes between Islam’s Allah and Christianity’s God then we may conclude that they are, or could be, the same.  However, if we can distinguish such differences then we must conclude that they are not the same.  Agreed?
Let’s draw a further distinction here:  “similar” does not equal “same.”  For example, both texts generally describe their God as being omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.  If those were the only considered attributes then we could end the discussion now and conclude they are the same.  But their Scriptures contain many more attribute details about these Gods.  If there are significant differences then we could conclude these Gods may be similar but they are not the same.  Just because they have similarities, or have some attributes in common, does not negate the attributes in which they differ.  Amanita mushrooms are similar in many ways to white mushrooms but no mycologist would declare that they are the “same.”  Sulfuric acid is similar in some ways to water but no chemist would declare them the “same.”  Otherwise people would suffer pain and death.  Experts in such fields who made such fallacious declarations would be either pernicious (therefore deserving punishment) or ignorant and laughable (thereby proving they are not true experts).
In sum, when we ask “Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?” we are asking if their essence, attributes, character, and identities, are identical or distinctly different.

The Approach - Questions
There are several key elements that must be defined and then used to establish the basis for our final decision.
Q1:  Where can we find the data we need to examine and compare to evaluate these Gods?
Answer:  As mentioned earlier, we must use the Bible and the Quran.  They contain the data we must draw from and examine.  These primary books provide definition and distinction for their God.  Islam has second and third sets of theological writings: the Traditions (Hadith) and the biographical writings (sira) respectively, which I will reference to expand the understanding of certain points, but the Quran alone is our foundational text for Islam.  Additionally, I may refer to Christian and Muslim theological commentaries (tafsir) related to each faith respectively.

Q2
:  What attributes, identifications, and characteristics do we evaluate to decide if they are the same God?
Answer:  We must examine their Scriptures and identify their words, actions, instructions, plans, intentions, commands, and relationships with their followers.  From this we can identify and establish cross-characteristics to evaluate.  By evaluating, comparing, and contrasting those characteristics we compare and contrast these Gods.
We’ll have to have something more significant than varying shades of gray or an ambiguous comparison to reach a firm conclusion.  For example, Allah has 99 plus names, (these names are attributes of Allah), and not all of these names are attributed to the God of the Bible.  Just because a particular name, title, or attribute is not declared and shared between the two does not necessarily mean that they are not the same God.  It only shows that that attribute has not been declared and attributed to that God.

Q3
:  How can we decide if the differences are distinct enough to allow us to conclude that they are different Gods?  (Distinguishing between similar Gods may not be as easy as distinguishing between coal and oranges).
Answer:  We need answers that identify these Gods’ attributes and characteristics distinctly.  One of the fundamental laws of classical logic is the law of non-contradiction, i.e. "A is not B" or “A cannot be non-A.”  Using the definition of “same” above if we find different and distinguishing features between Islam’s God and Christianity’s God then we must conclude that “A is not B,” i.e. that Islam’s God is not the same as Christianity’s God.  I’m not talking about shades of gray, (even within Christianity’s theological branches there are strong shades of grey), I’m talking about opposing or distinctly different characteristics.

The three topics we’ll compare and contrast.
We could approach this question from many different directions and this topic could easily take up an entire book.  If you examine the books and articles that address this question you’ll find very different methods and approaches are used.
I’ve chosen these three areas of comparison for our evaluation:
1)  The plan for the believers until the final judgment
2)  Jesus’ “Sonship”
3)  Intimate knowledge and relationship with God
The Bible and the Quran provide God-spoken words and deeds for each topic.  These three aspects are distinct from each other and provide a spectrum of comparison & contrast.  I think this approach is more beneficial than simply using one topic, such as the trinity, for an area of comparison which focuses only on the “personage” or “oneness” of God.  (Using the trinity is fine but I wanted to take a broader, perhaps less common but less metaphysical, approach.)

End of Part 1.   Continue with Part 2.

Ayatollah Khomeini schrieb in seinem Buch “Tahrirolvasyleh”, vierter Band, Darol Elm, Gom, Iran, 1990

Islam: Evil in The Name Of God

I have written a 980-page book, entitled Islam: Evil in The Name Of God, revealing the truth of Islam. It can be ordered from http://www.felibri.com/node/21 [updated link: https://www.amazon.com/Islam-Evil-Name-Jake-Neuman/dp/098099487X]. Following is an excerpt from the book.

It will take guts and courage to read this book. You will never read a book like it. This book is a take-no-prisoners, no-politically-correct examination of a very evil political and military ideology — Islam — masqueraded as a religion.

The front and back covers are grotesque but reality. The picture of the Iranian woman hanging from a construction boom is dedicated to the two thousand women hanged in Iran since the revolution. This is Sharia Law in action. They are all the first Nedas. (Go to page v for a summary of young women murdered by Islam in Iran. Read what happened to Taraneh Mousavi (19), who was recently gang-raped in prison by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad thugs and her body burned. This is Sharia Law in action. The 3 men hanging on the back cover are gays – still President Ahmadinejad stated there are no gays in Iran. This is Sharia Law in action.

The pictures of these murdered Muslim women are real pictures of real women murdered by Islam. They will be your daughters, your wives, your mothers if you don’t fight Islam. Hanging in this fashion is a very gruesome way to die. The humane method to hang someone (although there is no humanity in hanging) is to break their neck by opening a trap door. This ensures instant death with little or no suffering. The Iranian woman on the cover is strangled to death by a rope attached around her neck. Can you imagine choking to death hanging in midair at the end of a rope – a process that would take 15 to 30 minutes. Can you imagine your daughter being dragged to the city center, her hands tied behind her back, a rope lowered over her head, and then swinging in midair strangling to death. This is Sharia Law in action. This is Islam in action.

You will read why the Quran is the book of greatest evil ever written. Why Islam is a total renunciation of and a great crime and sin against the supposedly benevolent God. The total moral depravity of Prophet Muhammad will be exposed in all its sickening detail. The questions that will be asked: How can 1.2 billion people believe in this evil? How can 57 nations be supporters of the evil Allah? How can the President and Western political, intellectual, religious, and media elites support such diabolical evil.

The cold, hard reality is that Osama Bin Laden and Major Hasan are true and good Muslims, following the teachings of Islam exactly. It will be demonstrated that the Quran is not a holy book of the divine, timeless words/teachings of God, but an evil book containing the words/teachings of psychopathic mass-murderer, Prophet Muhammad.

Western Woman: Wanna be Muslim’s Wife? Here’s Your Crash-Course!

A Muslim man is asking for your hand in marriage, and you have [madly] fallen in love with his bronze Middle Eastern complexion. He seems to be intelligent, romantic, handsome, kind of rich, well-educated and well-mannered, too! He shows deep love and affections towards you. Showers his unlimited attentions, caresses; he really really cares for you and your heart flutters when you hear his voice or when you are near him…. You are attracted to him like to none other!

So, what more can a woman ask for in life? This most eligible bachelor is also a Muslim!

“There will be no problems”, he will say, adding: “you can keep your religion, I will keep mine”. It is indeed true that Islam does allow a Muslim man to marry a Christian woman [infidel]. But is it true that there will be no problems in such a marriage?

To answer this question, a Western [infidel] woman has to examine what it is like to be a Muslim’s wife?

Below is a ‘Crash Course’ on being a Muslim wife

All Western infidel women must familiarize with it before marrying a Muslim.

Muslim Wife’s Status!

* Islam teaches that Muslim men are superior to women. (Surah 2:228)
* Islam teaches that women have half the rights of men:

- In inheritance (Surah 4:11)
- In court witness (Surah 2:282)
* Islam considers a wife to be a personal possession of the husband.
“Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons, heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses…” (Surah 3:14)
* Islam commands women to veil themselves always when they are outside their homes:
“…says to the believing women… that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty” (Surah 24:31)
* Mohammed teaches that women are lacking in brain and religion:
“I have not seen any one more deficient in intelligence and religion than women”. (Al-Bukhari 2:541)
* Mohammed teaches that women are a bad omen:
“Bad omen is in the women, the house and the horse”. (Al Bukhari 7:30)
* Mohammed taught that women are harmful to men.
“After me I have not left any affliction more harmful to men than women”. (Al Bukhari 7:33)

Status of Your Muslim Marriage!

* Islam allows polygamy for men:
“A man may marry up to four wives at one time.” Marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four…” (Surah 4:3)
* A Muslim man can divorce his wife by oral announcements; the wife has no right to divorce at all.
“Divorce is permissible twice”. (Surah 2:229)
* When a Muslim husband has pronounced divorce three times on his wife, she then may not lawfully remarry her husband until she has married another man, properly consummated the marriage and has been divorced by her new husband.
“…So if a husband divorces his wife he cannot after that, remarry her until after she has married another husband, and he has divorced her”. (Surah 2:230)
* Islam teaches that a wife is subject to punishment by her husband; beating a wife or abstaining from sexual relations with her is legally allowed under Islamic Sharia.
“As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them, refuse to share their beds, beat them…” (Surah 4:34)

Your Muslim Sex Life Status!

Islam considers wives as a sex-object.

“Your wives are as a tithe [a field to be ploughed] unto you, so approach your tithe when or how ye will”. (Surah 2:223)

Status of Your Muslim Children!
Your children have to be raised according to their Muslim father’s religion, i.e. Islam. If he divorces you, he gets complete custody of all your children; you wouldn’t be able to see your children ever again.

The Islamic Sharia Law states that in mixed marriages, “the children will follow the better of the two religions of their parents”, which in your case is considered as Islam! The Koran explicitly states that Islam is the only true religion:

“…the true religion before Allah is Islam” (Surah 3:19).

Non Muslims [infidels] can not act as protectors to Muslims.

“O ye who believe; take not for friends [protectors] unbelievers rather than believers”. (Surah 4:144)

Your Future Status as a Muslim Wife!

Should you survive your Muslim husband, and his wealth is in an Islamic country, the Islamic Sharia Law will apply henceforth. The wife, who has not converted to Islam, gets nothing; the wife, who has converted to Islam, gets very little. According to the Koran, a Muslim wife does not inherit all her husband’s wealth. If the husband dies and he leaves no children, she gets a fourth of his wealth, his parents, brothers, uncles etc. will get the rest. If the deceased husband leaves any children behind, the wife gets an eighth part of the property; the children get the rest. The male child gets double the portion of the female.

“In what ye leave, their [wives] share is a fourth if you leave no child; but if you leave a child, they [wives] get an eighth; after payment of legacies and debts.” (Surah 4:12)

Before You Say “I DO” to a Muslim!

Before you commit yourself to marry a Muslim, it is a good idea to examine their motives behind marrying you. While your motive may be true love, his motive could be just to obtain a “Green Card”.

They say, “Love is blind”. But I, however, hope that this message will serve as an eye-opener for you.

You may say that your husband-to-be is a non-practicing Muslim. But let’s not forget that, Islam is more than a religion; it includes complete legal codes for Muslims and non-Muslims to follow in an Islamic State! In case of a dispute between you and him, all he needs to do [to get the upper hand over] is for you is to travel to an Islamic country.

If you are still in doubt, may I suggest that you see the movie “Not without my daughter”, which is based on a true life-story of an American woman, who married a Muslim man. Other similar movies are: “Princess”, “Dreams of Trespass”, and “The Stoning of Soraya M”.

This may be a life-saving experience. The lives you will save are your own, your families and those of your future children.

Few Questions to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf

Recently, Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Imam of the al-Farah Mosque in the New York City, has become a personality of front page news due to his efforts and initiatives, and that of his organization Cordoba Initiative, for erecting a 13 storey tall massive mosque, in the guise of a community center named Cordoba House, at a place very near to the site of the terrorist attack that took place on September 11, 2001. That was the greatest Islamic terrorist attack ever occurred and causing the death of over 3000 innocent people and destroyed twin towers of World Trade Center.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is a devout Muslim. He was born in Kuwait in 1948 into an Egyptian family steeped in religious scholarship. He was educated in England and Malaysia and, most importantly, he has a degree in physics from Columbia University in New York, USA and that has brought me, mentally and psychologically, very close to him, as myself also have a degree in physics from the University of Calcutta. Among all other branches of science, physics only helps one understand the ultimate reality of this phenomenal world. Furthermore, physics is the only subject that enables one to develop a rational mind. We, therefore, can assume that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, by studying physics, have also mastered himself as man of reason and logic. On the other hand, almost all the greatest minds of this world have designated Islam as the most irrational creed in this world and most of the conclusions of the holy scriptures of Islam, namely the Koran and Hadiths, are horribly irrational and unscientific. So, according to my observation, physics and Islam are mutually exclusive. Hence, it is really astonishing, how Feisal Abdul Rauf is being able to accommodate both physics and Islam into his brain. This inquisitiveness has inspired me to ask him a few questions.

Meanwhile, we must also keep it in mind that, as a creed, Islam is a package. To be a Muslim, every follower of the creed has to believe in each and every aspect of it. He has to believe in every verse, word by word, of the Koran. It is not possible for a Muslim to say, “I believe in these Suras of the Koran and I have some confusion over such and such Suras of it.” In such a case, he would instantly be declared an apostate and his life will be at stake. We, therefore, can be sure that, the imam, being a devout Muslim, also believes each and every aspect of the creed called Islam

My First Questions to Feisal Abdul Rauf:

I shall try to confine my questions within the purview of the Koran, because every Muslim has to keep blind faith on what is written in that holy book. In that holy book, Allah says that he has created this heaven and earth within 6 days from nothingness. According to the Islamic faith, Allah creates everything from nothingness. If Allah desires something to create, He utters the Arabic word “kun” (or let it be) and then and then the desired thing gets shape.

On the other hand, Imam Rauf must be aware that in physics, there is an established law called Conservation of Mass and Energy, that says the total mass and energy of this universe is conserved. Matter can be changed to energy and vice versa, but it is not possible to create extra matter or energy. I, therefore, ask Imam Rauf, which he thinks to be the rational picture of this world – the physical law of conservation of mass and energy or creation from nothingness by Allah?

My Second Question:
According to the Koran, Allah created water first and placed solid earth on water and to keep the unstable earth firm, he created mountains as nails (21:26). The Allah created the sky as a solid roof to cover the earth, which he has been able to fix in position without pillars by his extraordinary miraculous power or qudrah (31:10). And over this solid sky, he created seven heavens (38:27). Obviously, the sun, the moon and the stars are lying below the solid roof. Scriptures also say that, on the Day of Last Judgment, Allah will destroy this solid sky and the debris will fall upon the earth.

My humble question is, what is the height of the solid roof, which Allah has created to cover the earth? Presently NASA could have been able to take photographs of distant stars and galaxies, with the help of Hubble Space Telescope. Some of these stars and galaxies are hundreds of millions or billions of light-years away from the earth. So, the logical conclusion is that, the sky or the roof created by Allah is also billions of light-years away from the earth. So, the heaven that Allah created over the roof, is also so many light-years away from the earth.

My humble question to Imam Abdul Rauf is – How Prophet Muhammad, during his journey to heaven or meraj, could cover such an infinitely long distance and return within 6 to 7 worldly hours, aboard an animal called boraq? In addition to that, he travelled 5 times between the lower and upper heaven to negotiate with Allah to reduce the number of times the Muslims should pray from 50 to 5. He also travelled different heavens to meet earlier prophets and visited hell within that small interval of time. One should also notice that, Allah has endorsed the Prophet’s journey to heaven by reveling the verse (17:1) of the holy Koran. So, I ask the imam – Does he believe that Prophet Muhammad really travelled to heaven, or it is a myth? Does he, as a man of physics, believe that a man with his physical body, can go and return millions or billions of light-years within a few worldly hours?

Question No. 3:
It has been pointed above that, according to the holy Koran, sky is a solid roof created by Allah and He has succeeded to fix it in position, without any pillar, with the help of His miraculous power or qudrah. My humble question to Imam Rauf is – Do you believe that the sky is a solid roof? If it so, then how the angel Zibrail managed to travel between heaven and earth and succeeded to create a passage through that solid roof (called the sky), to meet the Prophet and enlighten him with the verses of the Holy Koran? Has Allah made a secret hole in the solid sky for his convenience? Anddid the Prophet, during his journey to heaven (meraj) utilize the same hole? I request Imam Abdul Rauf to enlighten me in this matter.

Question No. 4:
It has been mentioned above that, according to the Koran, Allah creates everything from nothingness. But it is really difficult to comprehend why Allah created Adam with clay. I therefore request Imam Abdul Rauf to explain, why Allah did not create Adam from nothingness?

Question No. 5:
Islamic scriptures say that Allah has created this heaven and earth, from nothingness, within six days and on the seventh day he created Adam, the first human being; with clay and Prophet Muhammad was the 90th descendant of Adam. According to my calculation, considering 30 years to be the age difference between two successive generations, Allah created this heaven and earth only 4,140 years ago. On the contrary, geological experts say that the earth is more than 3 billion years old. So, I request the wisdom of Imam Abdul Rauf to enlighten me in this matter.

Question No. 6:
I have many video CDs on Islam and most of these CDs begin with the pictures of distant galaxies taken by NASA with the help of the Hubble Space Telescope. This is to impress the viewers that Allah, the creator of heaven and earth, has created those galaxies within 6 days of his creation. At the same time, most of the Islamic scholars tell lie and say that Allah has created this universe. But the wisdom of Allah, as reflected in the Koran, reveals that Allah was ignorant of even the existence of the solar system, existence of other planets and the real nature of the stars and planets, not to speak of the vast universe, of which the earth is a very insignificant part. The Koran only says that Allah has created the heaven and earth and nowhere in that book there is the mentioning of the universe. Moreover, the Koranic earth is flat like a carpet covered by (21: 33). The verse (67: 3) of the Koran asserts that, Allah has created the roof and the seven heavens with such perfection that no one is able to find a crack in Allah’s creation. All such revelations obviously reflect very limited knowledge of Allah regarding real nature of this vast universe. My humble question to Feisal Abdul Rauf is – Does he contribute to the Koranic belief that this earth is flat and Mecca is at the center of this flat earth and the sun and the moon, according to the will of Allah, are moving round the stationary earth?

Even if, for the sake of argument, one admits that Allah has created this universe with all its distant stars, galaxies and nebulae, one has to admit, according the Koranic descriptions, all these heavenly bodies lie below the solid sky, above which Allah has created his seven heavens. Furthermore, as mentioned above, these distant stars and galaxies are hundreds of thousand or millions of light-years away from the earth. It necessarily implies that the solid sky, as well as, the seven heavens of Allah, is also millions or billions of light-years away from the earth. So it becomes really difficult to comprehend or, to speak frankly, horribly unbelievable that the Prophet, during his journey to heaven (meraj) covered such a vast distance within a few worldly hours.

Question No. 7:
In the present context, it is necessary to mention a few other extremely ridiculous astronomical knowledge of Allah, as reflected in the Koran and other Islamic scriptures. It has been pointed out earlier that Allah is ignorant of the fact that the earth is spherical in shape. The verse (17: 12) of the holy Koran says, “We made the night and the day twin marvels. We enshrouded the night with darkness and gave light to the day, so that you may seek the bounty of your Lord and learn to count the seasons and the years. We have made all things manifestly plain to you”. The text of the verse is sufficient to prove that Allah is quite ignorant of the diurnal motion of the earth. One can easily understand that it is not possible for Allah to comprehend the rotation of the earth, which according to him is flat like a carpet. The verse (18: 83-86) of the Koran says that the sun sets in a marshy land and the Macedonian Prince Alexander went to the spot where the sun sets. He also observed that the sun was setting in a pond. My humble question to Feisal Abdul Rauf is –Does he, having a degree in physics, contribute to these Koranic beliefs?

Question No. 8:
The texts of some ahadith also imply that Allah is ignorant of the annual movement of the sun and, hence, the real cause of changes of seasons. For example, Tabari ( I:232) says “Gabriel brings to the sun a garment of luminosity from the light of Allah’s Throne according to the measure of the hours of the day. The garment is longer in the summer and shorter in the winter, and of intermediate length in autumn and spring. The sun puts on that garment as one of you here puts on his clothes.” A Bokhari hadith, in this context, says,“Allah’s Apostle said, ‘The Hell Fire complained to its Lord saying, “O my Lord! My different parts are eating each other up.” So, He allowed it to take two breaths, one in winter and the other in summer. This is the reason for the severe heat and bitter cold you find in weather” (V4B54N482, as mentioned in the Prophet of Doom by Craig Win). Another hadith mentions an extremely ridiculous thing and says, “The sun and the moon were in eclipse for seven days and nights.” (Tabari I:332). My humble question to F A Rauf is – Does he believe in the above Islamic explanation of change of seasons?

This time, I have restrained myself within the above eight questions related to science. I am confident that, Imam Abdul Rauf would not come forward to give replies to my queries, because Imam Rauf and his lot and, in fact, all the members of the entire Muslim community are slaves of Arab religious imperialism. They don’t have the freedom of thought and freedom of speech. They are shackled people and have no right to question the doctrine, which have turned them into slaves. Personally, F A Rauf, being a man of science, may not contribute most of the unscientific Islamic beliefs, but he don’t have the right to say it publicly. In such a case, he would immediately be declared an apostate and some clerics would issue fatwas to kill him. From this viewpoint, Muslims are the people who are most oppressed by Islam.

Therefore, to conclude, I should say that, I feel pity for the people like Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who, being men of science are forced to believe the most unscientific mediaeval diktats of Islam. These people are confined to live in the gutter of Arabia and forced to sell the decomposing carcass of Arabia, called Islam. The stink odor of which is making people to vomit, but these people are saying, “It is the best thing in the world and everyone should adore it and accept it”
